I honestly think the HIMYM Finale will grow on people with time. It really was the perfect ending, it’s just the way it was presented to us that was the problem.

As for Barney and Robin, a little part of me knew they wouldn’t work. Barney’s not a commitment guy. The character development was about his love for Robin, not who he was (think about that), and when that slowly disintegrated (for whatever reason) he couldn’t do it anymore. I also believe Robin had a stronger relationship with Ted. The only reason they broke up in the first place was because they wanted different things… which makes the finale that much greater. The both got what they wanted (for Ted a family, and Robin a great career) and now they can be together without anything holding them back. Saying that…

I firmly believe Ted & Tracy had a wonderful 11 years together. And we can imagine what Ted went through when she passed. They just didn’t feel the need to show it…

Because ultimately, the show was deviously named. It’s not the story of how Ted met their Mother. It was Ted asking his kids, after 6 years, if it was okay for him to move on, and be with Robin.

ROBIN: If you have chemistry, you only need one other thing.
TED: What’s that?
ROBIN: Timing.

"Let’s look at the facts here. You made us sit down and listen to this story about how you met mom, yet mom’s hardly in the story. No. This is a story about how you’re totally in love with aunt Robin."
